DANNY JORDAN Danny Jordan comes to One Eighty Consulting with a wealth of information technology expertise in both the public and private sectors. Danny most recently served as Chief Information Officer (CIO) for the Department of Children and Families (DCF), the largest state agency in the Southeast. Just prior to his appointment as CIO at DCF, Danny served as CIO for the Department of Health (DOH), making him one of a very select group to have led the technology departments of two major state agencies.
As the CIO for both DCF and the DOH, Danny’s responsibilities included working with the Legislature on both budgeting and substantive issues regarding the IT organization of the agency. During his tenure at DCF, he was responsible for the direct management of seven Directors and 465 state positions and contractors. At DCF, Danny also served as Director of Systems and Operations, Systems Programming Administrator, Data Processing Manager, and Network Support Systems Manager. During the 1999 and 2000 legislative sessions and while at DOH, he was able to secure more than $20 million in funding for state technology projects. In 1999 he worked directly with the Governor’s/Legislative Y2K Task Force to obtain $1.5 million dollars for remediation of the department’s hardware and software systems. Danny was also instrumental in the management and implementation of the department’s $11 million technical infrastructure project that resulted in a common County Public Health Information System – spanning 67 counties – that saved the department considerable time and money. Danny also worked as Systems Programmer and Communications Specialist for the Justice Data Center at the Florida Supreme Court. During his tenure there, he planned, installed and maintained a network of over 1,500 devices for the Department of Corrections. In the past, Danny owned and operated three private businesses and served eight years in the United States Marine Corps Reserves, reaching the rank of Staff Sergeant E-6. He served as a Tank Commander and 2nd Platoon Sergeant. He currently resides in Tallahassee with his wife, Betty, and three grown children. In his spare time he enjoys golf and reading.
