JOE MAGNO For the past thirty years Mr. Magno has been involved in numerous private and public endeavors, all involving the adaptation and deployment of technology. After graduating Manhattan College he held numerous sales and management positions in large companies including Metropolitan Life, Digital Equipment, and Pitney Bowes. In 1987 he left Data General Corporation to start a systems integration company that in 1993 was acquired by a multi-national public company and became a Division of General Electric in 1996. At that time he was appointed Deputy Commissioner of The Empire State Development Corporation by Governor Pataki, and also served as Executive Director of The New York State Science and Technology Foundation. In 1998 he was selected by The State University of New York to be the Managing Director of The Office of Research and Economic Development and was given responsibility for system wide technology and economic development programs. In 1999 he founded The Information Technology Council of NYS where he remains the Vice Chairman of the Board. In May of 2000 he returned to the private sector founding JLM Equities, LLC and Brunswick Knowledge, Inc. Today, along with his involvement in his businesses he provides consultative services to emerging technology companies and serves on a number of public and private boards.
